What you will find inside

  • Why traditional endowments fail most civil society organizations — and what distributed alternatives look like
  • The core architecture of a digital endowment: capital pools, governance layers, and time-locked structures
  • How to design for institutional continuity from the very first year of operations
  • Practical frameworks for organizations at different stages: startup, scaling, and mature
  • The relationship between endowment design and organizational learning — how a well-structured organization knows whether its work actually changes anything

Who this is for

This book is written for people who build institutions — NGO directors, foundation officers, social entrepreneurs, and anyone who has ever wondered how to make a good organization survive beyond its first decade. It assumes no background in finance, but it does assume seriousness of purpose.

About the author

The Digital Endowment Playbook grew out of the research and design work at Protopia Garden, where we have spent several years building the conceptual and practical infrastructure for long-term civil society organizations. The book is the applied companion to the Endowment Platform concept published on this site.
